Market calendar
Rounds follow the New York Stock Exchange’s regular sessions, holidays and early closes, read from session accounts the vault admin registers ahead of time.
Session accounts#
Each regular session is a Session account holding its open and close times, the hash of the calendar it came from, and whether it is the week’s expiry. The admin registers them from a maintained calendar covering 2024 to 2028, with daylight saving time, holidays and early closes. The keeper never guesses sessions from weekdays or fixed hours.
The weekly expiry#
The expiry is the close of the week’s last regular session. Most weeks that is Friday at 16:00 ET. When Friday is a holiday the expiry moves to Thursday, and on an early-close day it is 13:00 ET.
| Week | Expiry | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Thanksgiving 2026 | Fri Nov 27, 13:00 ET | Early close after Thanksgiving |
| Christmas 2026 | Thu Dec 24, 13:00 ET | Christmas on Friday; Thursday closes early |
| New Year 2027 | Thu Dec 31, 16:00 ET | New Year’s Day on Friday |
| Good Friday 2027 | Thu Mar 25, 16:00 ET | Good Friday closed |
When a round can start#
- A registered session is open now.
- The next weekly expiry is between one and eight days away.
- The auction can finish before this session closes.
- The previous round is closed and the vault holds TSLAx.
In a normal week the first moment that satisfies all four is Monday’s open.
